Indian food events in Sydney and Australia

Melas, Diwali street festivals and food fairs, with the date, the hours and who is running them. We publish a date only when the organiser or the venue published it, and we say on every row where ours came from. Right now that is 10 events — this page is new and deliberately short.

Checked Sat 31 Oct 2026. An event drops off this page the day after it finishes, on Sydney’s date.

Sydney and NSW

What is on around Sydney

Street festivals, melas and food fairs where the eating is the point, or a large part of it. Free entry unless the row says otherwise.

Date from the organisation's own two 2026 posters, read 29 October 2026, which give Friday 30 October 6 pm to 11 pm and Saturday 31 October 11 am to 11.30 pm at 275 Fifteenth Avenue, Austral, free entry, and name food and variety stalls. The organisation's own Facebook post of 29 October 2026, read 31 October 2026, gives the same two days and the same Friday hours, but ends Saturday at midnight rather than 11.30 pm. Diwali on Wigram Street, Little India, Harris Park

Unconfirmed

The date is not settled. Two sources give two different dates, all with the same 1 pm to 9 pm hours and the same street:

  • Sat 14 Nov 2026 — the organiser’s own Facebook event page, which Facebook’s event history shows was moved from 7 to 14 November on 10 October 2026, then briefly back to 7 November and again to 14 November on 23 October 2026, and the event’s own TryBooking stallholder page
  • Sat 7 Nov 2026 — City of Parramatta’s own Diwali page and the organiser’s press release of 29 September 2026, both published before that change

Two of these come from the organiser and still disagree with each other, so we are not picking one. Ring or message the organiser before you go. This row stays up until the last of these dates has passed.

Where: Wigram Street, Harris Park

Entry: Free · AMA Event Management

The Little India precinct closes to traffic for Diwali - food vendors, market stalls, family activities and community organisations along Wigram Street. Harris Park is the densest run of Indian restaurants and sweet shops in Sydney, and the street festival is the one night a year the whole of it is outdoors.

Date from the organiser’s own Facebook event page and its TryBooking page, which give Saturday 14 November 2026, and City of Parramatta’s own Diwali page, which gives Saturday 7 November. All read 31 October 2026. Organiser

Where we look

A fixed list of organisers and venues, checked on a schedule. We follow aggregator listings as leads, but we do not publish a date on their say-so.

Missing an event, or know which Saturday Harris Park actually is? Tell us below — a date from somebody who knows beats anything we can find.

An event we have missed, or a date you can confirm? We would rather be told than be wrong — tell us about this page. And if there is something you wish this site covered and it does not, tell us that too.
